We created the platform ‘We Serve Restaurants’ to write a love letter to the real people that keep Grubhub going: the restaurants. Because after all, without grub we’d just be…hub? Working on and winning the John Lewis/Waitrose pitch was very much A Big Deal, and we were acutely aware of the responsibility of creating the very first piece of work for the supermarket. We introduced the new ‘GOOD’ brand platform to the world with the delicious flavours of the new Japan ready to eat range. Featuring a joyfully bold new visual style and tone of voice across outdoor, print, digital and radio. The work continued into the festive season, with a cheeky halloween crossover and an adults-only Christmas party bursting with the good stuff. So why would you settle for the bland, the basic, or the one-size-fits all? Shopping small means bespoke, handmade, vintage and one-of-a-kind, so why buy boring? Using stories around individual people and and anthem that states, “Why buy boring?” we showcase the variety of bespoke items available from individual sellers. Reframing Etsy as not just the place you shop for others, but the place where you shop for yourself too. Running in the UK and the USA simultaneously this was an interesting cultural challenge. We’ve learned that a one-size-fits all approach to advertising can go down, ‘like a lead baloon’, yet production and budget realities mean that most clients will shoot a campaign to run globally and make local adaptations as an afterthought. Creative Direction, Design &amp; Workshops.Meet Disco Juan, Foxephant, Slurk and Purple Ghost. These Nachtloerrrders (Nightlurkers) are imagined nocturnal animal eyes created in collaboration with over 900 Amsterdam school children. Their strange, unsettling nature hints at a possible future evolution. Light art is accessible, especially during these public events, as light is fundamentally beautiful and attractive to humans of all ages. It is inspiring to people who may not seek out art events naturally as they can be intimidating. As the technology advances the results can become more impressive, economical, and environmentally cleaner. The personalities shown in the movements and colours of the nocturnal eyes would not be so diverse without them.The development of the workshops and the Scratch program that allowed them to digitise and animate the animal eyes was very intensive. The first, an introduction to light art and the festival. The second backgrounded the science of nocturnal animals and evolution, and ended in the creative concepting of their own evolved animal. The sequencing of their appearance was designed to be disruptive. They appeared across the installations randomly so you had to keep your wits about you to spot the next eyes&nbsp;appearing, just like trying to spot nocturnal animals in the wild.
